WE WILL DO IT TOGETHER
Jhacky's House Project
As a body of believers we are called to bear one another’s burdens and more importantly to contribute to the physical needs of each other.
In 2 Corinthians 8:13-15, Paul exhorts us to share the resources that we have with other believers in the body, so that all may have their needs met.
“For I mean not that other men be eased, and ye burdened:
But by an equality, that now at this time your abundance may be a supply for their want, that their abundance also may be a supply for your want: that there may be equality:
As it is written, He that had gathered much had nothing over; and he that had gathered little had no lack.”
We first met Jhacky on the 17th June, 2016 when she applied to work for us as a website developer. Since then, Jhacky has been an integral part of our team and family.
Over the years together, Jhacky has been a faithful worker and brought joy to the projects in more ways than she could imagine.
We have been through many ups and downs as we have seen Natural Disasters, Terrorism and political unrest in the region where Jhacky and her family live. God has been so good to us and given us many opportunities to care for her family and support them through these times.
A little over a month ago, Jhacky came to us with some troubling news.
This is the message that Jhacky sent us…
The end of an era
The land her family lives on is being repurposed and the landowner has given them 2 months to vacate. Although this can seem like plenty of notice in our western culture, this is extremely short notice and has left us little time to relocate the family.
With the effects of COVID-19 causing lockdowns and limited travel, limited supplies and also a limitation on the availability of places to go, we have been given a very short window of time to sort things out.
"There only advantage is their family is complete. They have father, mother. Unlike me... I don't have a father figure ever since I am 7 years old."
House and Riches are the inheritance of fathers ~ Proverbs 19:8
The Background Story - Jhacky's Testimony
Me myself live here since birth, but my mother also live here since birth too, she was 52 years old now.
According to the elders at first there are only 40+ residents here that allowed to build a house. Due to population growth we are now 300+ residents/household here but only 288 residents are recognized by the owner to received atleast 5000 pesos worth of construction materials to start with.
In our own home we are 7 people live here, my mother, me, my brothers, 3 sisters including missy and of course Angel (Missy’s Daughter aged 2).
Eversince we didn’t rent the land, I think that’s the reason why the owners has no obligation for everyone on us here as we live here for free.
The main sources of living here is fishing as we are near on the ocean and also farming.
My place is far from city that’s why people that live here are belong to less fortunate group. In fact we are late on high technology thing. And all of them suffer the same situation as mine.
There only advantage is their family is complete. They have father, mother. Unlike me that I stand as a father and a mother too as my mom is sick and can’t afford to do such thing for living. Yes she can sell fish but limited due to her health condition.
Sometimes I asked, why am I here in this kind of situation? I felt like I carry all the problems in the world. I don’t have a father ever since I am 7 years old.
I remember when I was a kid I never enjoy my childhood as I have to help my mother to find way for living.
Our Daily Routine
Since grade 2 my daily routine is sleep at 7pm, wake up at 12 midnight to accompany my mother to the mountains, we gather vegetables such as malunggay, camote tops and lemon grass and the banana leaf, we half burn it with fire and fold it and at 3am we go to city market and sold it there, after selling it we separate the money for the owners of the vegetables. And have the profit to buy rice for our living, and the other money is we buy kilos of fish and sold it on our neighborhood.
At 5:30 – 6 am we are home, I myself cook our food and wake up my 3 brothers so that we can go to school. While my mother sell the fish. Around 11 am she was at home and sleep until 1pm as she will buy another fish to sold at 4pm. That was my routine from Monday to Friday, at Saturday and Sunday I spend it washing our dirty laundry at the river.

Help Us Build Jhacky's House
As soon as we heard of Jhacky’s situation we went to work on helping purchase a parcel of land so that this would never happen again.
Within days construction had started thanks to the help of her uncle (a builder) that has worked with us to come up with a building plan and construction costings.
We are doing all that we can to assist Jhacky and her family to build this house before the landowner comes back and starts the demolition of their block.
